'Menstruation' or 'periods', despite being a natural biological process, is still stigmatised in India. We are not comfortable to speak about it publicly. On May 28, we celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day. Let us undertake this special endeavour to spread awareness about it without feeling ashamed or guilty.

Children, being a curious breed often interpret things that are not told to them. When the topics are taboos, it becomes difficult for elders to think of ways to explain them. ACID is a beautiful short film that imparts a beautiful message of how parents should educate their children, whether boy or girl about 'Menstruation'.

The film shows a child narrating and incident to his mother about how a girl in his class urinated in her skirt and became the butt of everyone's joke without realising that the girl actually had her first period. The mother having understood it writes a letter to the school's principal requesting to teach and sensitise both the genders about this natural process and eliminate all the stigmas attached to it. Not only it encourages parents to educate their children about 'those 4 days' but also remove all curiosities crossing their minds.
