Jammu and Kashmir floods: People rescued by Army helicopter recount their stories, mass destruction in the state

Even after a week, normalcy hasn't returned to the flood ravaged state of Jammu and Kashmir and the Army and other agencies involved in relief work are trying their best to reach out to the people stranded. In this video, our reporter is aboard an army Mi-17 helicopter which is evacuating trapped people. 

The death toll in the floods, the worst to have hit the state in the last 60 years, has reached 215 so far, while 82,000 people have been rescued. Thousands of families are stranded and awaiting help in their homes across the valley. The districts in South Kashmir districts are the worst hit by the catastrophe, with many areas still cut off. Over 30% of the capital city Srinagar is under flood waters. More than 10 lakh people arre affected in Jammu division.
