From Rajinikanth to Ajith, celebs pay last respect to M Karunanidhi

A dramatic chapter in the political book Tamil Nadu and India has come to an end.

Kalaignar M Karunanidhi passed away at the age of 94 on August 7 after a prolonged illness. Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief's mortal remains have been moved at Chennai's Rajaji Hall in Anna Sala on Wednesday morning.

Commoners thronged to take a last look at Kalaignar. Politicians also arrived in Chennai. And since Karunanidhi shared a beautiful relationship with the entertainment industry, celebs from Tamil film industry made their way to offer condolences to MK Stalin and other family members of Karunanidhi's family.

He will be accorded with the state funeral later in the day. 

Soon after Karunanidhi's demise, many political leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi and chief ministers of various states expressed their deep grief and extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
