A day after Delhi University's Ramjas college cancelled an invitation to JNU students Umar Khalid after a ruckus by ABVP, clashes broke out between between AISA and ABVP students, on Wednesday afternoon.

The students were supposed to carry out the march from Ramjas college to Maurice Nagar police station demanding action against ABVP, over the ruckus created by them on Tuesday.

"The ABVP along with the police has almost blockaded Ramjas College. They are threatening that no march out of the college will be allowed," the students said.

"All the teachers present have gone to meet the Principal to intervene so that ABVP doesn't have a free run inside the college," they said.

Heavy police deployed outside the college to maintain the law and order even as students were engaged in Scuffles.

"ABVP members have beaten up some students who were about to carry out the protest march," Kawalpreet kaur, Delhi University student and an AISA member said.

ABVP on Tuesday disrupted the two-day seminar organised by the literary society of Ramjas on 'culture of prostets' where JNU students Umar Khalid and Shehla Rashid Shora were invited as speakers.

While Khalid was among the students charged with sedition in connection with an event at JNU last year where anti-national slogans were allegedly raised, Shehla Rashid, a former JNU students union member, was instrumental in the movement against the students' arrest.

The two students were scheduled to take part in a session during a two-day seminar on "Culture of Protest" organised by Wordcraft, Ramjas college's Literary Society.

According to the college authorities, the event was cancelled to maintain peace on the campus. “No complaint was received and no case case has been registered,” the police said.
