OPINION: ‘Time to get Zakir Naik back to India’

When we first filed a detailed case against Naik in 2008, there were clear charges of creating religious disharmony and money laundering. Maharashtra police have also reported instances of youths being influenced by Naik’s speeches and undergoing training to make explosives and weapons. In March, ED arrested Abdul Kadir Najmudin Sathak for actively assisting Naik by transferring funds of dubious origin from the UAE to facilitate production and broadcast of videos to spread communal hatred and radicalisation.
