Swine flu: 3 more people tested positive in Mumbai

Three people were tested positive for swine flu in Mumbai on Thursday. This brings the total of swine flu or H1N1 patients in the city to 12.

The three patients include a 26-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both of whom were admitted in a private hospital.

“They are both on Tamiflu and are stable. I am trying to find out more about their whereabouts so that we can conduct a surveillance of the contacts of the patients there,” said Dr Mangala Gomare, deputy executive health officer, BMC.

The third patient tested positive is a 19-year-old boy from Santacruz. He is related to a patient who was tested positive for H1N1 on Monday, added Dr Gomare.

Earlier, a Mulund family of three people — 6-year-old child, his 37-year-old father and 57-year-old grandmother, and two friends in their 50s who travelled to Alibaug, were tested positive for swine flu.
