Cataract is opacity of the lens causing blurred vision

Youngsters have different type of cataract as compared to the older generations

Posterior sub capsular cataract is seen on patients who are on steroids.

Causes:
Steroid intake when gymming, self medication with drops especially pyrimon, indiscriminately using pyrimon, drugs used for asthma and arthritis etc
750 drops of steroids causes cataract
Steroids can also cause glaucoma (increases in eye pressure and damaging the optic nerve) which causes irreversible blindness, vision that is lost can’t be brought back but it can be prevented from spreading

Prevention and cure:
Avoid using excessive steroids, cataract operation, always question the doctor for long term drugs specified, check doctors and the drugs’ credibility
