Health matters: Rhythm rules our lives
Harald Stossier

Health is not only a gift of nature, but also a state to which we have to strive actively every day. This means the decisions we make should be in our own personal interests.

Nature shows us the importance of rhythm in all areas. The natural rhythm of the seasons brings along a renewal. This rhythm continues in the body. Our body has two rhythms: slow and fast. Fast rhythms are responsive such as our nervous system. Slow rhythms work over 24 hours such as metabolism or hormones. All these rhythms are overlapping and regulate our health. Therefore, spring with its renewal and growth period is ideally suited to support the rhythm of life.

The rhythm in the digestive system reflects a 24-hour rhythm. “Have breakfast like a king, lunch like a citizen, dine like a beggar”, expresses this in a particularly impressive way. Especially in the Modem Mayr therapy, we wish to establish this rhythm again. Here, we pay particular attention to the easily digestible evening meal, which should be taken as early as possible. This is important for regeneration, which happens during the night. If we eat much in the evening, the regenerative capacity is affected.

The control of regeneration takes place via a hormone, that we form in the epiphysis (melatonin). If we lower the body temperature in the evening and at night, more of this melatonin is produced. This is not possible if we eat too much food in the evening (we measure the amount in kilocalories, a heating unit) or it is even reduced if we cause a process of fermentation by consuming too much raw food in the evening, which leads to an increase
in body temperature.

Therefore, the regenerative capacity is impaired at night, we don’t sleep that well, we detoxify more during the night. Especially in the long term, this regenerative ability is closely related to our life expectancy. This drops significantly when regeneration is impaired. Not for nothing, melatonin is referred to as the anti-aging hormone and one of the modern strategies of a long life is dinner-cancelling. Unfortunately, modern technologies such as electromagnetic waves, triggered by modern telecommunications are affecting our ability to recover. We know that the production of melatonin is significantly reduced by mobile phone radiation. Therefore, we recommend banning it from the bedroom at night.

Furthermore, it is advised to also remove other electromagnetic emitters, such as televisions, remote controls, clock radios, wake-up phones and others from the sleeping area for that regeneration happens at night. For this reason, we have a mains cut-off in our health centres and recommend turning off the phones at night.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Who lives his life in accordance with the rhythm of life, will never get tired.” A loss of rhythm leads to many socialisation disorders. By taking care of the food culture, we hold the reins to avoid or to treat them.
