'Tutak Tutak Tutiya' review

Film: Tutak Tutak Tutiya
Director: Vijay
Cast: Prabhudheva, Sonu Sood, Tamannaah Bhatia

What it's about

A lesson that men can never be content with what or who they have even after they've got it. Krishna (Prabhu) isn't the sort of guy who wants it all— an educated English-speaking wife. Instead, he gets saddled with Devi, who's from his village. Ashamed, he tries to hide her at home, away from his friends. This house, as he later finds out is haunted by the spirit of an aspiring actress, Ruby. Ruby possesses Devi as and when she feels like, somehow finding herself as a sexy actress in a movie opposite superstar Raj (Sood), who is besotted by her even as Krishna is forced to take up the role of her manager.

Will life take a turn for the worse or the better?

What's hot

Sonu Sood has an interesting, if somewhat underwhelming, role. Then there's Prabhu who tries hard, a little too hard in fact, to seem believable. Tamannaah is who you're going in to see. As the only eye candy and someone with a dual-identity role to brag about, she has everything going for her. Vijay barely manages to keep it all together.

What's not

People like Krishna exist. And that is the sad part. Those people will like this film. There are going to be those in love with seemingly harmless entertainment like this. The music is nothing great. The humour even more forced than one would expect. You're going to wonder why such films even get a Hindi release like this.

What to do

Prabhudheva can dance and we know that it works. Why not a little more of that, please?
