Sir Elton John believes welcoming his son on Christmas Day actually helped him and partner David Furnish enjoy the first few hours of fatherhood in private before sharing the secret with the world.
John and Furnish also feel that the festive birth of son Zachary via a surrogate was a blessing in disguise, as the hospital was deserted, reports the Daily Express.
"It was actually ideal in terms of a secrecy standpoint as well because when we walked into the maternity ward at Cedars-Sinai, it was empty, there was nobody there," Furnish said in an interview on US news show 20/20, which aired last week.
"Nobody wants to have a Christmas baby. People want to have them early or they have them induced or they have a Caesarean, so from a secrecy point of view, it worked in our favour so well," John added.
