Women prisoners keen to join Rahul Mahajan's reality show

Nine women prisoners of the local central jail are eager to become prospective brides of Rahul Mahajan in the TV reality show 'Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega' and have started wearing lipsticks to look 'attractive and beautiful' for this upcoming event.

"These nine prisoners, including convicts and undertrials, have moved applications, seeking permission to participate in the TV Swayamvar show of Rahul, son of BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, in which he is proposed to choose his better-half," Bhopal Central Jail superintendent PD Somkunwar told PTI today.

He had sent these prisoners applications to the Jail Headquarters, adding that the pleas of undertrails will be decided by the court while that of convicts will be looked into by the Headquarters, Somkumar said.

These women are very much interested to take part in the TV show, adding that they after moving applications have started wearing lipsticks, Somkunwar said.

The way these women are dressing to look attractive and beautiful for the show has surprised other prisoners, he said.

Some women prisoners are laughing and teasing these women inmates eager to participate in the show, Somkunwar said.  "I am not opposed to the aspirations of these women and wants to see them happy. Even they are human beings and have all the rights to be happy," Somkumar said.

About their fascination to worldly life, he said these women have been very much impressed by former Bollywood actress Monica Bedi's living style, who had been in the Central Jail here.

Monica allegedly close to underworld don Abu Saleem had been in the central jail here in connection with the fake passport case.

Some of these women who had sought permission to participate in the show include, Preeti, 32, - a convict in NDPS case, Bhagwati, 18, - an undertrial in a dowry case, Seema, 25, - convict in a murder case and Sunita, 30, - an undertrial in a drug case, an official said.

These women are heard in the jail premises as saying that they will be a perfect match for Rahul and as husband-wife they can understand each other better given he too had been in jail in some drug case, they added.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh additional inspector general of jail A Khare said that these women will not be granted permission to take part in 'Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega', adding that they will go by the rule book in this regard.
