Will Aamir Khan reconsider his decision?

The HRD ministry may urge Aamir Khan to withdraw his resignation from the expert panel on Copyright Act

Will Aamir Khan reconsider his decision?

The ministry of Human Resource Development is expected to formally urge Aamir Khan to take back his resignation from the Centre’s expert panel on Copyright Act. An incensed Aamir had resigned from the panel on Tuesday night over allegations of ‘sabotaging the panel’.

“We will request Aamir to reconsider his decision as the HRD ministry has involved him in the panel after a lot of deliberation. The ministry feels that without him the panel will lose much of its sheen. The other experts in the panel are also being urged to talk to Aamir about the matter,” says a source from the HRD ministry.

But if sources close to the actor are to be believed, then Aamir is in no mood to oblige. “The decision of a resignation had come after a long deliberation. Aamir was disturbed when he found out about the allegations from a section of the media. He was emotionally shaken. So much so, he thought that it (to be a part of the panel) is backfiring on him,” says a source.

In his resignation letter mailed to Kapil Sibal, Aamir had clearly mentioned how disturbed he was.

“Sir, I take great pride in my honesty and integrity, and attach an enormous amount of value to my sense of justice and fair play. Monetary achievements have never excited me. If they had, I would have acted in many more than one film a year, thereby being financially much richer than I currently am… such public attacks are most damaging to me emotionally and leave me crippled. In the past 26 years of my involvement with the film industry I may have made mistakes, but never have I knowingly been dishonest or unfair in my dealings...,” Aamir said in his resignation letter.
