Why is Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his best behaviour?

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is at his best behaviour these days. The filmmaker, who has been in the news for his alleged war of words with actor Salman Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar, among others is now looking to portray a squeaky clean image of himself and one has veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar to thank for that.

A source close to SLB says that he is an ardent fan of the singer and only recently he came to know that she watches the reality show that he judges.

“He was on cloud nine when someone told him that Lata didi watched his show. At first he didn’t believe it, but then he saw her tweets and only then was he convinced,” says the source. And since then Sanjay has apparently been on his best behaviour on the show, hoping to make a good impression on his idol.

“Sanjay wanted to do the show because it made him open up. Initially people expected him to be the Simon Cowell of reality shows (Hollywood reality show judge known for his scathing remarks on contestants), but he surprised them by revealing a frank, yet soft and practical side of his. And Sanjay doesn’t want to be known as a tyrant, not with Lata didi watching it,” says the source.
