Michaele Salahi, who grabbed international headlines after gate crashing the first state dinner hosted by US president Barack Obama for prime minister Manmohan Singh has bagged the starring role in the new reality show The Real Housewives of DC.

The blonde has been described as a "D.C. power player" by Bravo TV which broadcasts the Real Housewives franchise which has already proved a superhit in it's New York and New Jersey versions.

The Salahis, Michaele and Tareq, stirred up plenty of drama on November 24 by making it through Marine guards, Secret Service details and White House staff to rub elbows with America's top politicians at the state dinner.

The series debuts on Thursday Aug 5, reported Washington Post.

A camera team from Bravo TV had trailed the couple that evening and the infamous episode will feature in the much awaited series.

Bravo announced the full cast on Tuesday, saying that the five chosen women have their pulse on the most important cultural events, political galas, gallery openings, and fundraisers in Washington society.
