When Chiranjeevi dropped in

Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia and his cast and crew of Zanjeer — who are currently shooting in Hyderabad — were in for a pleasant surprise recently as South superstar Chiranjeevi dropped by on the sets. The star, who decided to pay a sudden visit to the sets of his son Ram Charan’s debut Bollywood film that has him paired opposite Priyanka Chopra, was given a warm welcome by everyone.

A source reveals that the star rarely ever visits his son, so it was a surprise not only for the crew, but also for Ram. “Ram is already a star down South, so Chiranjeevi sir is hardly ever known to drop by on his sets. When he came by recently, everyone was thrilled by his presence. They were in the midst of shooting an intense sequence when he came in, but instead of interrupting the shot, he preferred to wait for the scene to get over,” reveals an insider who was on the sets, adding that the place was charged with excitement as soon as everyone realised that he was present.

Onlookers share that the senior star too seemed pleased with a few scenes that he saw. “What followed a long session of chit-chat and film discussion, was a grand feast that everyone enjoyed. The energy on the sets was boosted to another level altogether in the presence of the South icon.

Chiranjeeviji said he had come to show his support to the film and that he was very touched with the affection showered on him by the Bollywood team. Much to everyone’s delight, he even shared anecdotes of his own Bolly experiences,” adds another crew member.
