We need more men like Josh Hartnett here: Bipasha Basu

She’s just back from shooting her first Hollywood film Singularity in London, but actor Bipasha Basu has had no time to breathe. She instantly got busy with her other two films here and the much-awaited fitness DVD in the pipeline.

The sultry beauty, however, did manage to make time to catch up on the recently concluded football tournament, Euro 2012 during her busy schedule. She feels from the way it has turned out that she is kind of a lucky charm for the Euro and World Cup winners, Spain. “I have been  closely watching the football tournament and my team (Spain) won! I was cheering them from the beginning and you know a freaky thing happened. Last time in 2008, it was the Euro final, and I placed a bet with my friend Gaurav Kapoor that Spain’s striker Fernando Torres will score and he did, and the team won. This time around I was in Dubai, and I joked to Gaurav that Torres will score in the finals again and they’ll win! And it happened. It was a little freaky considering Torres wasn’t delivering lately,” she recalled.

What about footballer Cristiano Ronaldo? “I do support him, but I don’t like the Portugal team. Their team is a one-man army,” says the actor, who was once linked to the sportsman. So is the upcoming Olympics next on the sportslover’s agenda? “No, I am super busy. I would have loved to go to the Olympics, but I am too tied up with  work. I will catch all the action in London on TV,” she adds.

A lot has been reported about her closeness with Hollywood co-star Josh Hartnett. Ask her about it and she maintains, “We are very, very close friends… Unfortunately, we stay in two different countries and are super busy with our lives. But I must say, we really need more men like Josh here in India!” gushes Bipasha, who’s working round-the-clock to launch her latest fitness DVD, which is currently in the post  production stage. The actor informs that she met a lot of people for the latest fitness DVD. “Once I was in the gym, some people came up to me and said, ‘We hate you!’ I was taken aback. Then they added that they envied me as I was so energetic when it comes to doing exercises. Most people are too lazy and lethargic to exercise. I was like that before.

And that’s what I’ve tackled in the DVD, to show how to get into shape in a fun way,” she says.

But the actor is quick to add that the first step towards fitness is to believe in oneself. “One needs to embrace oneself. Believe in yourself — it’s only one life so take care of it,” says Bipasha.
