Virat has a fan in Hugh Grant

Actor Hugh Grant who’s known to be an avid cricket buff recently revealed that apart from being a fan of the sport, he’s also a fan of Indian all-rounder Virat Kohli.

Speaking about the player, the Notting Hill actor said, “Virat is one of my favourite batsmen from this new generation of cricketers. He is a treat to watch on the field.”

Though a hardcore cricket follower, Hugh admitted that he doesn’t like the T-20 format. The actor, who will soon be seen portraying multiple roles in his upcoming movie Cloud Atlas with co-stars Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, added, that he prefers the ‘civilised’ test version of the sport.

Hugh himself has played several celebrity cricket matches for charity back home in the UK, and had earlier reportedly remarked that women love cricketers.

The actor’s comment apparently left little doubt that he may actually have been referring to his ex-girlfriend actor Elizabeth Hurley’s involvement with Aussie cricketer Shane Warne, or to former girlfriend Jemima Khan who was divorced from Pakistani cricketer Imran Khan, claimed online reports. As for his own cricketing skills, Hugh is known to have played cricket even at school level.
