Vihan Gowda hopeful his next film might just change Sandalwood

Perhaps it may not be an exaggeration to say that film Agamya is all set to create a record of sorts in Sandalwood and we’re not talking about box-office collections here.

Instead, we’re talking about the number of producers joining hands to make the film Agamya (ironically meaning inaccessible in Kannada).

Earlier, director P Seshadri had attempted to make film Athithi with five producers and actor Prakash Raj played a key role in the making of that award-winning film. Now, Umesh, who has worked as an associate for many directors in the Kannada film industry, has succeeded in roping in 50 of his friends as producers for his pet project Agamya.

With this film, Vihan Gowda, the newest hottie in town, who hails from Hassan and has an MBA from Global College, Bangalore, makes his debut as a hero in Sandalwood. Gowda’s father, a civil contractor, wanted him to pursue a career in business but Vihan was determined to realise his childhood ambition of becoming a hero and now he’s not far from that dream.

“Hrithik Roshan and Puneet Rajkumar are my role models. I watch their films without fail. I am really excited about realising my dream of becoming an actor and am extremely grateful to the 50 people who have invested money in this film,’’ says the good-looking Vihan.

The film Agamya is about the incidents that take place during a one-day trip to Sagar from Bangalore. “I  am playing the role of an adamant spoiled brat from a rich family who wants to do things in his own way. The climax is what happens to me because of this adamant attitude,’’ adds Vihan.

Debutante Disha will be seen in this movie as the female lead, while another claim to fame will be the return of Udit Narayan and Anuradha Paudwal as playback singers for a song.
As of now, 80 per cent of the shooting for the film is over and the film is expected to hit screens in one month. With several firsts and a breath of fresh air for Sandalwood, we’re definitely looking forward to Agamya.
