There’s work for everyone, says Vinay Pathak

Vinay Pathak refutes claims that Bollywood only has eyes and work for a select few

There’s work for everyone, says Vinay Pathak

He’s been keeping it low and constant for almost a decade now and is at a point in his career when roles are being tailored to fit him in. And Vinay Pathak is definitely not complaining.

While a lot of his counterparts talk of work only reaching those who belong to the Who’s Who list, quiz Vinay on the same and he asks, “Who said there’s work only for a handful in the industry?” And for someone who has as many as nine films waiting for release in 2011, we know he’s not wrong in saying so.

Currently shooting in Rajasthan with Lara Dutta for her debut home production, Chalo Dilli, Vinay’s not just sporting a new look but also enjoying every minute of the first leg of shooting. Ask him about his co-star, Lara, a very unlikely pairing and he says, “Isn’t the audience tired of getting the expected? It’s all about being unlikely and Chalo Dilli fits into that bill perfectly.”

The new year will see quite a few back-to-back releases of the actor and he’s looking forward to the same. “SRK, Utt Patang, Tere Mere Phere, Lakshman Rekha, Bheja Fry 2, Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, Mumbai Chakachak, Mumbai Cutting are all ready for release. It’s going to be a very busy year and that’s why I say there still is a lot of work left in the industry for everyone,” Vinay states.

Of course, Bheja Fry 2 sounds the most interesting of the lot, considering the success of the previous film. “If the first one was a success, this one’s bound to be a super success,” he signs off.
