There cannot be a greater joy: Sushmita Sen

Art aficionados might like to walk down this aisle. For, in a first ever attempt to do so, works of the Masters of European contemporary art like Damien Hirst and Auguste Rodin will be on show and sale with the proceeds going to actress Sushmita Sen’s charitable organisation.

Giving back to society
Presented by businessman Gaurav Assomull and Sapna Kar, the show is to be held at Villa 39 from February 13-16. Says Assomull, “We are constantly at the forefront showcasing the best of cultural and artistic works from across Europe and are excited to present works by the great Masters to connoisseurs of art in Mumbai. It’s nice to give back to society by bringing luxury and philanthropy together in innovative ways.”

The actress herself is excited to be part of the art event. “I am very pleased to join this group in their forthcoming show featuring the greatest European Masters. There cannot be a greater joy while knowing that your gesture has touched a life at its core. My foundation was formed to spread our blessings amongst those who need them. We endeavour to support through our partner NGOs, children and individuals suffering from cancer, HIV, mental disabilities and also the cause of global warming and child adoption,” explains Sen.

Part of the sculptures on display belong to Lorenzo Quinn, son of the Mexican American actor Anthony Quinn. He gets his inspiration from life’s everyday experiences, as well as poems and literature in general, but especially from observing life's energy.
