Tanu and Manu unite this year end

Tanu Weds Manu was undoubtedly one of the surprise sleeper hits of this year. The proof of which is the fact that a big banner like Eros International is now producing its sequel within a year of its release. Krishika Lulla from Eros confirms this and also says that the sequel will indeed roll soon, right after the release of Desi Boyz.

“The film was a great entertainer. People loved it. This has given us the belief that a sequel will work too. The film’s director Anand L Rai shows a lot of promise. So we readily agreed to work on the sequel to this hit film,” says Krishika.

The makers are going to retain the original cast of the film, since people loved the pairing. “We cannot think of a sequel without the two lead actors. Both Madhavan and Kangna were amazing and they’re going to be the lead actors in the film. Of course, there will be some masala and surprise elements thrown in like the original, which will entertain the audience,” says Krishika.

The producer-distributor is very happy with the way 2011 has shaped up for her. “Since the past few months, we have some of the biggest names in the industry lined up as Eros releases. We had Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Mausam. In November, we will have two big releases, first there’s Rockstar and then there’s Desi Boyz,” says Krishika, adding, “We also have Ra.One and Rajinikanth’s Rana lined up.” Phew, now that’s a list any filmmaker would like to have under their belt!
