Rocky star Sylvester Stallone apparently wants to portray John A (Junior) Gotti on the big screen.
The action film star asked about working on a film about the life, times and trials of John A Gotti, said Marc Fiore, CEO of Fiore Films.
"He's interested," the New York Daily News quoted Fiore as saying.
Fiore's production company has a deal with the son of John (Dapper Don) Gotti for a full-length movie.
Shooting is expected to begin in March, with the film expected in theaters next fall.
"During the past 20 years, there have been numerous made-for-television movies, books and other representations about me, my father and our family," Gotti said in a release.
"None of these projects were done in cooperation with my family, and in most cases did not accurately reflect our lives," he said.
The Brooklyn-born Fiore said Stallone, star of the Rocky and Rambo franchises, is among those interested in the movie - as both director and star.
The movie has a modest $15 million budget.
