'Sweet Poison' keeping birthday girl Meghana Mudiyam busy

I dub for all my movies myself,” says actress Meghana Mudiyam.

And consequently, her current movie Sweet Poison is keeping her trebly busy, with Meghana dubbing simultaneously in English and Hindi along with Kannada. “Sweet Poison is my fifth movie and given the fact that it’s being shot 6 times, it’s like doing 6 movies at a time!” she chimes. Meghana counts herself lucky for bagging a role, like the one in Sweet Poison. “I am pretty much there in every scene and it is also unique because I got to act with Girish Karnad sir,” she says.

Elaborating on the story, she adds, “The movie is the story of girl who comes to Bangalore to chase her dreams as a model, but then she gets mixed up in bad things. The story is about how she comes out of it through guidance. Girish Karnad plays the mentor.”

Recalling the first scene she shot with Girish Karnad, she admits, “It was very, very scary, especially because the first scene I had to do with him was pretty intense. I had to behave like I was under influence and behave badly in front of him. It was completely nerve-wracking.” Her fears were completely allayed when, “He told me that I had done well. That made my day” she smiles. Other than Kannada films, the actor reveal that she is receiving offers from Tamil films too.

Ask this California-born actress if, giving up a cushy life back home for acting was all worth it, she says, “It would have been a bigger regret if I didn’t get into acting...If I hadn’t taken the chance, I would have become some business professional and led an inconsequential life. I would have regretted never trying….I am lucky to have got the opportunities and am also lucky to have my family supporting me. It’s been pretty awesome the way it’s all turned out,” she cheerfully concludes.
