Sushmita Sen's grooming will bring home Miss Universe title: Sandhya Mridul

Bollywood actress Sandhya Mridul, who was here to judge a talent round of I am She beauty contest, promoted by Sushmita Sen, feels that the former Miss Universe will be again successful in bringing the crown to India through her participants, whom she is coaching for the international pageant.

"I am happy that Sushmita is doing this. Such grooming is very much essential. She will give confidence to the contestants to understand who they are...and how to maintain their identity," Sandhya who judged 'I Am Talent' round for the contest held in Goa, told PTI.

Mridul judged the contestants alongside filmstar Amrita Rao at a five star hotel in South Goa, where all the finalists are gearing up for the D-day on May 28 in Mumbai, when one of them will be selected to represent India in the Miss Universe Competition this year.

The film and television actress was confident that Sushmita, who is mentoring all the 30 beautiful women picked up from various cities across the country, will infuse the right spirit into them.

"Lots of Indians have talent but unlike foreign countries we don't nurture it from childhood. Its good that a person like Sushmita has taken up the task to bring home the title this year," Sandhya said.

"The entire world connects with Indian women as they have a lot of soul and emotions," she said.

Sen won the Miss Universe title in 1994 and now through  I Am She contest - the preliminary to the 2010 Miss Universe competition, she selected 30 women after a nationwide hunt.

The winner of this contest will represent the country in the global competition unlike previous years where the Femina Miss India winner used to do so.
