Sonu Sood enters the big villains league

He’s undoubtedly one of the most sought after actors across different industries. And why not, his roles win him accolades and recognitions. “I feel humbled when I am nominated for an award. It shows that my effort has paid off,” says actor Sonu Sood, who has been nominated in the Best Villain category at IIFA this year for Dabangg.

“I’m currently in a very happy phase of my life. I can proudly say that I’ve had to reject some really good scripts because I’m completely tied up for another one-and-a-half years,” says Sonu. And he gladly rattles the list of films he has lined up, where the Tamil ones excite him in particular.

“I’m really excited to be part of Rana. To be working alongside Rajini sir is an honour. We are schedule to start shooting next month. I’ve also accepted to play the same role I played in Dabangg, in the film’s Tamil version alongside actor Simbu,” says Sonu. He adds, “I began my career with Tamil films. But, I got busy with Telugu and Hindi film industries. Now, I’m back there again.”

Sood is also excited about the Hindi films he has on his hand. “We’re almost done with the dubbing of Bbuddah… Hoga Tera Baap. This film was wrapped up quickly. We’re looking at a July release. It was great working alongside actor Amitabh Bachchan and having Puri Jagannadh as the director,” says he.

Sonu, who plays a cop in Bbuddah…, will essay the role of a cop again in his latest signing. “I’ve signed a film called Maximum, where I’m going to be acting alongside another great actor, Naseeruddin Shah. This will be a story revolving around cops and the underworld,” reveals Sood. And he is looking forward to the release of his first Kannada film too. “We have only a week’s shooting left for Vishnuvardhana. It has been a fun project. I am eagerly awaiting to see how I will be welcomed in Kannada films,” he signs off.
