Sonam Kapoor on the flipside to stardom

Actor Sonam Kapoor, who is a self-confessed gadget freak is upfront when it comes to dealing with her detractors online. The young actor, who is known to voice her opinion apparently does not think twice while putting her point across. Sonam has over one million followers on micro-blogging site Twitter and though most of them are quite cordial when it comes to interacting with her, she reveals that she sometimes has to deal with people who post nasty tweets on purpose, to attract some attention.

Talking about how she deals with her detractors on social networking sites, she says, “I block nasty followers. There is so much being written about you, that sometimes it is uncalled for. Especially those blogs — they are so nasty at times. I really want to reply back to them sometimes. So I just crap-block these people. I know how to deal with bullies and the best way is to ask them to get lost. I block at least 10 people a day!” Though Sonam doesn’t regret blocking people, she says in a way, it proves to be of great help to her. “You know, sometimes, when I am in a really bad mood, I just take off on people. It’s great therapy to vent out your frustration and I think it is totally human,” says the young actor.

But in hindsight, she reveals, that when she read some of the other actors and the tweets they get, she realised that her fans, in comparison, were much sweeter. “I always thought people were very mean to me on Twitter, so one day I went and saw other people’s mentions and that is when I realised that they are really sweet to me. In comparison to what gets written about others, the stuff people write to me is much better.” Sonam has also been knocking some sense into a few fans who recently picked on her for having spelt a word wrong. She was apparently cheesed off when a fan questioned her on her spelling mistake. She said, “Madam I can have an opinion and make mistakes at the same time. Maybe you should not be so judgmental.” She later posted, “I love my fans and I love the fact that they are intelligent and sensible.. So please guys don’t hate on other celebrities! I expect more from you! Love you!
