So comparisions between Bollywood and Hollywood: Anil Kapoor

Actor Anil Kapoor may be busy juggling his Bollywood outings with those in Hollywood, but when it comes to comparing the two, his funda is very clear: ‘No comparisons please!’ “It would be unfair to compare the two,” feels Anil. Elaborating his stand, he says, “Yes, technically they are far more superior, but then a lot of it has to do with the overall large scale that the films are made on out in the West. Their budgets are huge. I don’t think we would lack on any front, if we got the same budgets to work with. But though things are extremely professional there and they treat you very warmly, they are not as cordial as we Indians are on our sets. Our films have their own charm on camera and off the camera.”

Insisting that the filmmakers here are just as talented, the actor, who’s at present busy with his action flicks Tezz, Race 2 and Shootout At Wadala here and the film Cities in Hollywood, adds, “We are a strong independent entity on our own and don’t need the acknowledgement of any other industry to tell us how good we are. However, as actors it’s always nice to know that you have a global audience and the feeling that you are out there, being celebrated as belonging to the Indian film fraternity internationally is a proud moment for anyone of us.”

Talking about his films all belonging to the action genre, he says, that it’s a genre that he’s always enjoyed doing. “Over the years, I think the style of action has got more slick than the kind of raw action we’d do when I had just started,” reveals Anil. As for his own preference, he says that he enjoys doing both. The actor will also be seen playing a cop in his forthcoming films, but Anil says that it’s just co-incidence that he plays a cop in Cities, Shootout At Wadala and even Tezz. “Yes, all the three are cop roles, but they are really different from each other,” he smiles.
