Sindhis demand their place in 'Mile Sur Mera Tumhara' song

The latest edition of patriotic song Mile Sur Mera Tumhara, which was telecast on small screen recently, has upset members of Sindhi community, who have registered their protest against non-inclusion of Sindhi stanza in the poem.

Bhartiya Sindhi Samaj (BSS) has appealed to Zoom television channel not to telecast the second version of this song unless the Sindhi stanza is incorporated.

The earlier version had former cricketer Narendra Hirwani singing on the screen with playback song rendered by renowned Sindhi singer Ghansham Vaswani.

BSS has expressed regrets that the producers of this musical masterpiece, Kailash and Aarti Surendranath of Kailash films, have ignored the Sindhi part in the song.

President of BSS, Pradeep Bhavnani, said that his organisation had taken up the matter with the producers who have assured that they would persuade young Billiards champion Pankaj Advani to deliver the Sindhi stanza in the song in background voice of Ghansham Vaswani.

Despite assurance from the producers, the changes to include the Sindhi stanza in the poem have not been made so far, Bhavnani said.
