The quietest of the Bachchans has now decided to wax eloquent. Daughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and wife of Nikhil Nanda of Escorts Ltd, Shweta Nanda will be hosting NDTV Profit’s new show ‘NextGEN’.
The show, a weekly 12-part series, will feature 12 people below the age of 40, representing various fields including art, literature, sports, films, fashion and business.
It will focus on what drives these achievers in their respective professions and their future agenda.
Quizzed about her stepping into the spotlight, Shweta reveals, “It is a great opportunity. I spoke to my family about it and they liked the concept. The time seemed just right too.”
So how did the seemingly reticent Shweta train herself to get talking? “I am a young person. Also, coming from the family like mine, I have certain insights about the youth. I empathise with them,” asserts Shweta.
She adds, “The youth today are so comfortable and confident about who they are, that they bring out the same in you. The show deals with a cross-section of people, their feelings, their great struggles and their not-so-great ones.”
Any tips from Big B? “His blessings are enough for me. I can never be compared to him.” And are her children excited to see her on TV? “Navya Naveli and Agastya want their bedtime extended so that they can watch my show. They are going to be very criticial of me!” says the fond mother.
