Shilpa to get engaged this Sat; wedding planned in December

Actor Shilpa Shetty will get engaged this Saturday, even as her sister Shamita fights it out in the Bigg Boss House. The wedding, sources said, will be in December. Shamita will not be able to attend the engagement.

The actor’s spokesperson confirmed that Shilpa and her beau, London-based businessman Raj Kundra, will host a small party to celebrate her engagement at her Juhu apartment.

The actress didn’t wish to comment on the wedding, but her spokesperson said that “it (the engagement) will be a very private affair, where only immediate family members will be present. There won’t be a bash, for sure. We don’t have any official word about the wedding.”

The wedding, sources said, will be in Mumbai and a mid-December reception is planned in London.

“She has ordered jewellery for the wedding and has picked up every piece with care. We are gearing up for her wedding in December,” said the spokesperson, and Anmol Jewellers will make the jewellery for the actress.

Immediate relatives of Shilpa and Raj have been flown into Mumbai for the engagement.
Apart from being a dealer in precious metals, Raj and Shilpa are co-owners of an Indian Premier League team and are reportedly interested in buying a stake in a football club after their wedding.

A few months back, the actor had announced that their marriage had been postponed due to the lack of a proper venue and their Juhu residence was not ready. The marriage was to take place this month.

“Things have been sorted out. She will announce the marriage venue and date soon,” a source close to her added.
