Shah Rukh Khan won’t back out from his promises

Business honcho Karim Morani’s name cropping up in the recent 2G scam has apparently, not marred his equation with the superstar.

Shah Rukh Khan won’t back out from his promises

The implication of event management head and producer Karim Morani in the recent 2G scam is unlikely to affect the relationship between him and actor Shah Rukh Khan. Sources close to the star confirmed that Khan is not backing out of the promises he had made to Morani — one of which includes launching his daughter Zoa Morani in a forthcoming film.

“Karim Morani and Shah Rukh Khan did have a word about the goings on. We cannot say what the conversations were, but we can say that the ongoing revelations won’t affect the friendship between the two and neither would Shah Rukh back out from launching Zoa in the film that has already been announced,” said a source close to the star.

However, sources say that all of Morani's  financial transactions in the last five years would come under the CBI scanner and one of them is indirectly supposed to affect Khan's too. “Morani holds a sizeable stake in Shah Rukh Khan’s cricket team and this investment could also come under the CBI scanner. However, there is no problem with anybody inspecting the account books because the papers are in order,” the source added. Morani  is also the executive producer of SRK’s big ticket superhero film, Ra.One. Last year, there was considerable hullabaloo over Karim when it was alleged that he had approached Sunanda Pushkar (now politico Shashi Tharoor’s wife) to buy a stake in the cricket team. However, Morani countered it saying that she had approached him.
A lot of Bollywood celebrities have already texted Karim Morani and expressed their support for him, though nobody would come out in the open in his support. Apparently, nobody from the Morani family will be available for comment till the investigations are over. When After Hrs tried to get in touch, the person who picked up Karim’s brother Mohammad Morani’s phone said it was a wrong number.
