Shah Rukh Khan ditches Berlin

While the entire cast and crew of Don 2 — including it’s director Farhan Akhtar, co-producer Ritesh Siddhwani and actor Priyanka Chopra — is off to Berlin to attend the Berlin Film Festival, where the film will be showcased, the Don himself will be missing in action.

And actor Shah Rukh Khan’s tweets indicate that it’s his ill-health that has prompted him to call off his date with Berlin. “Getting fever I think...they say its in the air..which sounds kinda wrong...its in me I feel not in the air...DamN!!!” the actor had tweeted on Wednesday.

He followed it up by another tweet saying, “Oh fever not abating. Will have to rest it out...it sucks!” And in between wishing his Don team for their Berlin sojourn, the actor had also been posting tweets about his family time with daughter
Suhana and son Aryan.

For his film crew, he tweeted, “Doisms continued
for my don team at berlinale... Make sure @FarOutAkhtar @priyankachopra
@ritesh_sid u follow all of Don’s rules to the ‘D’ & b worthy of the
responsibility bestowed upon thee...” To which Priyanka tweeted back,
“@iamsrk done! But u shud be there..Don 2 without Don!!! Booooo! Feel
better soon! Will adhere to all specified rules Don!”
But while back home, it’s his family image that the actor’s been busy playing up to ‘the T’. But buzz doing the rounds indicates that there may be more to what meets the eye than the actor’s tweets.

Insiders, say that the actor skipped the festival to avoid public appearances with Priyanka because their friendship has sent tongues wagging in Bollywood.

Talks of how growing friendship between the two co-stars has been creating trouble in paradise for SRK, has been doing the rounds for quite some time now and reports of PC not making it to the guest list of the close coterie of SRK’s wife Gauri have only been fanning the gossip further.

Now buzz is that the actor is keen to not let the rumour mills start afresh when SRK and PC would have been snapped together again at the film festival there. “It won’t take long for the international press to get a whiff of the rumours. Chances are that since Gauri couldn’t accompany him there, SRK decided not to put his health at stake and skipped the event too,” said an insider.
