Shah Rukh chips in for Farah Khan

A charity, art and luxury auction that was slated to be held last night in the city with filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Boman Irani as hosts, had, among other things for auction, a tea-date with actor Ranbir Kapoor and a bike ride with Bolly hunk John Abraham.

But Farah managed to up the stakes when she roped in Bollywood heavy-weight Shah Rukh Khan as well. The actor has agreed to autograph the auctioned painting of artist Paresh Maity and also meet the buyers. “When Shah Rukh heard about it, he agreed immediately,” says Farah, who was associated with the charity auction for the Jay Vakeel School for the specially-abled even last year. Last time around, Farah had arranged for a breakfast with Akshay, auctioned diamond earrings worn by Katrina Kaif and a work-out session with Salman Khan.

“The response was great. That’s why we wanted to have that Bollywood element this time too. I think when it comes to such noble causes, Bollywood comes together as one, always. Though they couldn’t make it to the event, they showed a keen interest in helping the charity in whatever way they can,” adds Farah. About roping in Shah Rukh, Farah reveals that he is and always will be family. “Shah Rukh is a call away. And when it comes to a noble cause, trust me, he’s always there,” says the filmmaker.
