Sexy mummy, Sonali Bendre!

The actress says that she is not pro size zero; stresses on having a fit body rather than a thin one.

Sexy mummy, Sonali Bendre!

Actress Sonali Bendre took a break from her blooming acting career after her son Ranvir was born. She made her way back into the industry with guest appearances in films and then as a judge on reality shows. Yet Sonali has always underlined her family-first funda.  Sonali says that she feels that TV gives her the flexibility to be at home and spend time with her son more often.

“I have not faced any problem till now with the shows. The dates are nicely spaced out. If I’m out the whole day, then the previous day is spent with my child. I try and balance my schedules in a way that I give Ranvir quality time as well. I strongly feel that it’s very important to spend quality time with kids, especially when in their growing up years.” asserts Sonali.

So is Bollywood out of the question for her? “Yes, I want to concentrate on Ranvir and with films it becomes difficult. All I can say is that movies are not on the cards for me right now. Having said that, I have never planned my career moves, so I can’t comment on the future. But nothing’s happening at the moment.”

Talking about her son, Sonali says that she is now ensuring that he learns the Gita very well. “One of his (Ranvir’s) friend’s grandma teaches kids the Gita. I send him to her. I think it is very important for our kids to know their roots and culture when they grow up to become global citizens. You cannot claim to be a global citizen if you are clueless about your own culture. I am happy to be able to instill good values in him since his childhood,” she says.

As the conversation veers away from her son, we can’t resist but ask Sonali about the secret of her gorgeous looks and fit physique even now, to which she says, “I never used to work out earlier. But some time back I realised that I have to keep myself fit and by fit I don’t mean thin but more in terms of overall health.” Does she believe in the size zero funda? “Not at all. It’s very important to be fit and not skinny,” she ends.
