Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi slaps her heroes

It's not out of spite of course, but in her quest to do 'challenging' roles, the model-turned-actor gets to slap around a bit in her new movies.

Sandalwood actress Ragini Dwivedi slaps her heroes

Actress Ragini Dwivedi has her hands full right now. She’s working on three big projects back-to-back, each one of them being directed by good technicians. “It’s really exciting. I get to work with good heroes, good directors and I’m also being allowed to experiment with my look in each of these films,” says the youngster.

The actress, who just began work with Shivarajkumar in Omprakash Rao’s Shiva, says, “It’s so nice to work with experienced actors. You get to learn so much from them. I began my career opposite actor Sudeep, who is many years senior to me and that has helped me. I’m sure these will too.”

While she plays a Catholic girl working in a telecommunications showroom in Shiva, she plays a psychiatrist in P Vasu’s Aarakshaka opposite Upendra. “Each of these characters has so much scope for me as an actor to perform. If I play a psychiatrist who helps Upendra in Aarakshaka, I have multi-layered role in Shiva. In Tippu, I have quite a different role opposite Aditya. The other day, I had to slap him for a scene, and I’d to do it eight times since it was quite weird for him,” says Ragini.

And she even tells us that she gets to slap one of her senior male co-actors in another of her new films, but refuses to divulge which one as she feels that would give away too much of the story. The other bit that Ragini is excited about is that her brother is designing her costumes for her new films. “My brother Rudrakh has studied fashion designing. He’s come up with some exciting new looks for my films Tippu and Shiva,” says she.
