Salman Khan's production to open 12th IIFA festival in Toronto

'Chillar Party', actor Salman Khan's debut film as a producer, will open the 12th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in Toronto.

The film, produced under the Salman Khan Being Human Productions (SKBH), revolves around the lives of seven children, hailing from various strata of the society.

"Chillar Party is very close to my heart. The concept appealed to me and the children's performances were endearing. This is the first film under SKBH Productions, and we felt there was no better place to screen it than the IIFA Film Festival," Salman Khan told reporters here last evening.

Directed by debutants Vikas Bahl and Nitesh Tiwari, the film, co-produced by Ronnie Screwwala, releases on July 8.

Altogether 20 films will be screened across four cities -- Toronto, Markham, Brampton and Mississauga -- during the festival. They include 'Dabangg', 'Chak De India', 'Rang De Basanti', Dil to Pagal Hai', 'Hera Pheri', 'Black', 'Dilwale Dhulania Le Jayenge' and 'Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye'.
