Salman gets trained by descendants of fierce warriors

Salman Khan has put in his heart and soul for his forthcoming release Veer, the plot of which has been written by him. Apparently Salman, who is playing the role of a warrior from the medieval Pindari clan, mounted marauders from Central India who owed allegiance to Maratha rulers, wanted to be completely authentic.

The actor asked action director Tinu Verma to seek out descendants of the fierce warriors and hired them to learn their style of sword fighting on horseback, besides their other customs.

A source reveals: “Tinu Verma scouted areas that were once the home of the Pindaris and found a couple of descendants. Tinu, who also put in a lot of research, observed their body language and learnt their tactical warfare strategies. The Pindaris, who taught Tinu, were on board when he in turn coached Salman.”

When contacted, Salman confirmed the news. “If you are playing a member of the Pindari clan it natural that you would want to know everything about them. And who better to teach you than the Pindaris themselves? Tinu has been a great help in finding the right people for the job. Thanks to them, the action sequences are looking great,” said Salman.
