Salman breaks Aamir’s record?

The star becomes the only hero after Aamir to join the elite Rs200-crore+club for back-to-back Rs100 crore hits at the Indian box office.

Salman breaks Aamir’s record?

With his latest release inching towards a Rs 100-crore collection, actor Salman Khan has managed to wriggle into a club that only had actor Aamir Khan as its sole occupant, with his films crossing Rs 100-crore mark in collections at the Indian BO. Interestingly, Salman’s recent film Ready was panned by critics after its release.

Film trade analyst Amod Mehra says, “The collections have exceeded Rs 100 crore, and we are referring to only its net collections. We haven’t yet arrived at a conclusive figure as there are other factors like cost of the film and taxes to consider before doing so. The film has done exceptionally well at the box office,” he says.

Interestingly, people close to Salman say that he was always confident of his success at the box-office. “We had a quiet celebration at Patiala (where he’s shooting for film Bodyguard) on Thursday when he was told that the film will make a collection of more than Rs100 crore,” says a family member.

Interestingly, sources close to Salman reveal that he’s yet to get a congratulatory message from supposed good friend, Aamir. “Bhai knows that he might not equal what 3 Idiots and Ghajini collected together, but he knows that he has not fared badly either.

Yesterday, he made a toast to the cast and crew of the film,” added a family member. Salman plans to throw a party once he finishes shooting for Bodyguard.
