Salman Ahmad scores for Deepak Chopra

After releasing a solo album, ex-Junoon guitarist Salman Ahmad has been roped in to compose the musical score for a Hollywood film. Salman’s single ‘Ghoom Tana’ is being used by spiritual guru Deepak Chopra for his upcoming film ‘How To Know God’ directed by Ron Frank.

“I was introduced to Deepak by Nandita Das who is in the song’s video. We met in New York and he said he loved my song. We also vaguely discussed a project on music together,” says Salman.

‘Ghoom Tana’ is from his debut solo album, ‘Infiniti’ which also features Shubha Mudgal. Salman seems to be really excited about the project. “I have also been asked to do the background score for the film.

Deepak wants to use the song for the climax. Madonna’s track ‘Ashanti’ from the album ‘Ray Of Light’ is one of the other tracks that is being used,” he adds. The film is based on spirituality in the 21st century. k_shridevi@dnaindia.net
