It has emerged that Russell Crowe might play the father of Superman in Man of Steel.
In the classic 1988 movie, Marlon Brando played the role of Jor-El.
According to movie industry magazine Variety, producer Christopher Nolan is said to be a driving force behind the decision to cast Crowe as the ill-fated character, reports the Daily Mail.
However, Warner Bros. has yet not confirmed whether Russell will join the cast for the Zack Snyder-directed flick.
But if the early reports are correct, Crowe will join previously announced cast members Henry Cavill (Superman) and Amy Adams (Lois Lane).
