Roman Polanski completed 'The Ghost Writer' in jail

Filmmaker Roman Polanski completed his new film 'The Ghost Writer' in a jail cell in Switzerland.

The director was arrested and detained on a 32-year-old sex crime charge last year, before work on the new film had been completed.

However, Polanski, who is now under house arrest at his chalet in Gstaad, Switzerland, made arrangements to edit the film behind bars, film's stars Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor said.

"He would be in his nine-foot by four-foot cell, edit the movie and give it to the warden. The warden would give it to his lawyer (who would) then give it to the editor," the Daily Star quoted Brosnan as telling CNN.

McGregor added: "I think he had no other option."
