Rod Stewart becomes grandfather for first time

Rod Stewart has become a grandfather for the first time after his daughter Kimberly gave birth to a baby girl.

In a show of family unity, the 66-year-old rock star was joined by all three of his wives, current and former, on the maternity ward in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Express.

Stewart, a father of eight, was present for the birth on Sunday, along with his wife Penny Lancaster and his first wife Alana Collins, Kimberly’s mother.

Later his second wife Rachel Hunter, their daughter Renee, 18, and his son Sean, 31, from his marriage to Alana join them on the ward to offer their congratulations.

The baby’s, father, Oscar-winning actor Benicio Del Toro, 44, had announced earlier this year that he is no longer with model and actress Kimberly, 32, but will play an “active role” as a father.
