Ricky Martin says he is on his favourite tour ever

On the verge of starting the Spanish leg of his Musica + Alma + Sexo tour, Ricky Martin is not hiding the pride he feels at how things have gone on the road so far.

 

"Everyone going to the concert tells me they feel like a better person," he said.

 

In an interview with EFE prior to his Spain debut in the southern city of Malaga, the 39-year-old Martin admitted that he feels "free" up on stage.

 

"I'm in a very different place than I was 15 years ago. I feel a little more relaxed; it's my age or the public, but I feel that I don't have to prove anything to anyone and everything is flowing organically," he said.

 

That calm, he emphasises, does not mean that he's not keeping up his high standards in his new show or that it lacks "euphoria and adrenalin".

 

Martin also said that he has been pleased with the critiques the media have made of the show, which he has so far been brought to New York, Los Angeles, Canada and Mexico, among other places.

 

"It's my favorite tour. Black & White was beautiful, the Living one was also a big hit, but this one is the most complete," he said regarding the current effort.

 

Also contributing to the sense of fulfilment he displays is probably the fact that he is now the father of twins, who are accompanying him on the tour along with the artist's mother and brother, and also the fact that some time back he publicly declared that he is gay.

 

"Finally, I can say: This is me," Martin said.
