'Ready to go solo again', Madhavan

Never mind the controversies around it, the stupendous box office success of 3 Idiots has given R Madhavan the boost that he has been waiting for a long time now. Madhavan says that the box office success and critical acclaim the movie has received will bolster his solo lead actor career in an industry that sees most heroes settle for a multi-starrer.

“I did 13 B as a lead actor which worked well and was well received by the critics too but 3 Idiots has certainly done it for me. I have been getting many offers as the solo lead actor and I’m expecting many to come. There are some really good films in the pipeline for me. One great movie like this is always beneficial for an actor as in Bollywood not many solo lead roles are made. The industry has shaped up like this and I’m glad that even in this condition, I’m getting solo offers,” Madhavan told DNA.

Two films with Aamir Khan and Madhavan has seen both the movies — Rang De Basanti and 3 Idiots become big hits. Does he consider his pairing with the superstar as a lucky charm? “Aamir is definitely a lucky charm for me. The movie he chooses to do is so good that if he wants me or anyone else in it, we will do it. He has been an inspiration. I was really motivated to see a man like him who has achieved it all but have such child like enthusiasm about every movie.”
