Ready for a party fanta‘sea’?

This X’mas and New Year, as much as resorts and lounge bars, folks will be partying on huge dhows and luxury yachts.

Ready for a party fanta‘sea’?

Yes, the dress code this party season may be black-tie and formal gown, but it may also include a pair of rubber flip flops and rubber float as a standby, for the well-heeled are all booked to bring in the festivities on the waters — on yachts and liners!

‘Where are the open-air options?’
Like the birth of all ideas, this one too stems from want of innovation. Bharati Mongia, of a marine yachting company, brings it down to the dearth of unusual ventures. “People are fed up of the same old party spots, also where are the open air options in South Mumbai? We have already got so many inquiries for our luxury yacht Shazma that we’re almost sold out for the year-end parties,” she declares.

Adds Riyhad Kundanmal, of a boating company, “It’s about  wanting to experience a new freedom and luxury, a new party in itself.”

Water lot of fun!
“Bigger is definitely better when it comes to these yachts and one can have the equivalent facilties of a five star hotel, pool, beach deck and cigar bar on a yacht,” says Shaurya Singh, marketing head of a yachting company.

Guests are privy to great menus and bar options and boat owners are looking to up the ante by bringing DJs on board too. Informs Mongia, “A party on a large boat can be really exclusive. You can also have a DJ, themes, huge buffet tables, a spa for guests and when you’re totally partied out you can also crash in your cabin!”
