Raveena Tandon is a shrewd manipulator

Close to a decade back, the film industry was abuzz with rumours of a big showdown that actress Raveena Tandon allegedly had with one of her publicists. Now sources say that the altercation was probably for a film.

When Raveena reportedly found out that the promotions of her film were not going according to the plan, she didn’t hesitate to give her publicist an earful.

Ironically now, Raveena is all set to play a similar character — one that she probably hated at that point of time — an ambitious head of a Public Relations agency. The film, titled Zoom Straight To The Top is being directed by Devang Dholakia and is touted as Raveena’s comeback vehicle after a long gap of five years.

Raveena has also signed Boodha with actor Amitabh Bacchan.

“I wouldn’t say that I am making a comeback. I was doing films. For example, I did act in a Bengali movie called Laboratory and I thought the movie was widely appreciated (she also received an award for that),” she says.

Raveena was last seen in a box office dud called Sandwich (2006).

According to sources, Raveena’s new avatar in the upcoming film will see her manipulating the career of a new actress, who has just come to Mumbai from a small town.

“It will reveal a lot of what happens in Bollywood. There were several sessions between Raveena and the director and, of course, they were inspired by a lot of what is happening around them. I don’t think it is based on one single person though,” adds a source.

The movie is supposed to go on floors by the end of this month.
