It’s actually the second year that actor Rani Mukerji has bought Ganapati home and she says that it’s been the best part of the year for her.

“It’s a long festive season for me. First, I welcome Ganpati at home and then it’s time for Durga Pujo. So, I look forward to this time for the whole year. Why only me? The kids at my home are always excited about Ganpati coming home,” smiles Rani who welcomed the God for the second consecutive year at her new bungalow, which is just a walk away from Prithvi theatre in Juhu.

“We have lots of space at my new home. So, it gives me some opportunity to decorate my home and create a nice space for my God to be worshipped there. I am very involved with with the puja at my home. I take part in the morning prayers and the evening aarti everyday,” says the actor.

“Hope you know that unless Lord Ganesh’s puja is done, you cannot worship any other God (according to Hindu scriptures). Worshipping the Lord has always been a great moment of joy for the entire (Mukerji) family,” she adds.

Rani says that this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi has been all the more special because her father has bounced back to health (she had cancelled her debut outing at Cannes this year because he was not well).

“Thanks to all my well-wishers’  good wishes, my dad is keeping very well. Nothing is more important in my life than the health of my family members, especially my parents. I am glad that my entire family is with me for Ganesh Chaturthi,” she says.

Rani has a very interesting take on God. “Everything is basically one source of light and we are all parts of it and we are moving towards it. We are all trying to connect to the higher soul (through prayers and dedication) and reach towards the source of light.
