Ranbir Kapoor reveals his passion for music

Actor Ranbir Kapoor is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that his character in Imtiaz Ali’s next film looks most convincing. Ranbir plays a rockstar in the the film and has gone all out to make sure he looks the part to the T.

For that the actor had learnt to play the guitar before he started shooting for the film. And now if sources are to be believed, the actor and his guitar are now an inseparable duo.

In fact, insiders reveal that he has taken it up so seriously, that everyone on the sets unwinds when he plays the guitar after pack-up. “Everybody on the sets knows about this and looks forward to these sessions. Surprisingly, he also sings when he tries to tune in to the guitar,” says a source.

He had earlier expressed regret that he hadn’t been able to play an instrument in any of his films so far. The source reveals, “Ranbir loves music and his biggest grudge was that he hadn’t got the chance to play any musical instrument. Very few people know that the actor is very musically inclined and has learnt to play the tabla and drums too. When Ranbir was young, he had learnt to play the tabla and the drums along with singing, but now he seems to be smitten by the guitar. He is seen strumming it all day long and actually carries it where ever he goes. He plays it in between breaks and shots and is constantly trying to play a new tune.”

Confirming this, Ranbir says, “I love learning new instruments. I know drums, tabla and now guitar. Before I started work on Rockstar, I learnt to play the guitar for my character. I’m enjoying it so much, that I carry it where ever I go and play it in my breaks or free time.”
