Ramya quits: What happens to 'Siddalingu'?

The mess surrounding payment issues between Dandam Dashagunam producer A Ganesh and Ramya may have resulted in the latter wanting to keep away from films. But, the film chamber’s year-long ban on Ramya and her voluntary retirement has left Ramya’s pending project Siddalingu in the lurch.

This film, which stars Yogesh opposite her, was something that both the actors were really kicked about. While Ramya found this to be one of the funniest scripts she’d heard in a long time, it was a dream come true for Yogi, for he is a self-confessed fan of Ramya.

Yogi says, “We will have to wait to see what the final outcome is. We recently began shooting for this film and Ramya’s dates given to us were only towards the end of April and May. We have time to see if things change in the meanwhile.” The actor has hit the gym to bulk up for his role in Siddalingu, which is his home production. The film was first announced over a year back, but  there were subsequent delays, as Yogi has apparently been busy with other films. When contacted, Ramya said, “It isn’t as though I am against acting in Kannada films. I am just fed up with the drama and the unnecessary controversies.” Whether Ramya will revoke her decision to fit in this commitment of hers and whether the ban on her will be lifted to make way for her biggest fan to finally act opposite her is a question only time can answer.
