Queenie Dhody’s daughter debuts as an artist

She’s surely been born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she’d rather let hard work speak for her. Society doyenne and jewellery designer Queenie Dhody’s 16-year-old daughter Tiara Dhody debuts as an artist next week. Her ideas fructified in the form of 25 paintings titled Hope Love Luck. “These are feelings that everyone feels and are happy feelings, my paintings symbolise these emotions,” says the young artist.

Tiara however wasn’t into art as a kid. “I’d soon be going to London for further studies. I had a two-three month break and I wanted to do something productive, so I started painting,” says Tiara, who has also been teaching handicapped children in a school. “These kids have taught me a lot about hope; even the smallest of things like crayons and paper make them so happy!” she says.

Her mum Queenie says, “She asked if she could have an exhibition, her dad Raja and I encouraged her all the way.” Queenie recalls the creative birthday cards Tiara would make as a kid, the jewellery she’d design for her and how she’d be covered in paint all over.
